The applicant should have a track record of international research at the intersection of philosophy and economics. The Department of Philosophy at Ryerson University (www.ryerson.ca/philosophy) in Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The area of specialization is Ancient Philosophy. Director, Center for Advanced Research in the Humanities
Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications and nominations for the Director of its newly created Center for Advanced Research in the Humanities. Massey University is New Zealand's defining university. The Manawatu Campus, where this position is located, has a rich research and teaching tradition in relation to the land, natural resources and the environment. Politics is a key social science programme within the School of People, Environment and Planning which has a presence on the Manawatu and Albany campuses.
The appointee will possess, or will have very nearly completed, a relevant doctorate and will have relevant research and teaching expertise in Politics. The PhD position is part of the larger LogiCIC project on "The Logical Structure of Correlated Information Change". The overall project aims to develop a uniform logical system that centres around correlated information change and can be used to explain and model various interactive scenarios. The project is interdisciplinary in nature and will combine insights and techniques from a range of research domains, including logic, quantum mechanics, philosophy of science, belief revision theory, truth approximation and learning theory.
